Day One — Travel to Pennsylvania
Travel to Pennsylvania today as we begin our adventure to witness the Great Train Race. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with your new traveling companions.
Day Two — Erie’s Nautical History and Dinner Cruise
We begin the day at the Erie Maritime Museum. Here, we travel through time and learn about the people and the events surrounding the lake up to the present day. When she is in home port, the U.S. Flagship Niagara is berthed within yards of the museum and is visible from the bayside picture window. The Lake Erie Wine Country is the largest grape-growing region east of the Rockies and a stop at Mazza Vineyards offers an opportunity for a tasting. In the evening, we climb aboard the Victorian Princess for a leisurely dinner cruise through Presque Isle Bay and Lake Erie. Enjoy a delicious dinner and the wonderful views of the town of Erie, the Perry Monument and Presque Isle Lighthouse.

Day Three — Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad and Gandy Dancer Dinner Theater
Begin the day with a journey aboard the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad through historic a Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Since the first steam train chugged its way through the region in 1880, the area has not changed with its steep cut valley walls and ancient stands of evergreens. Later, we arrive in West Virginia and the lovely Isaac Jackson Hotel. Tonight, we are treated to a fabulous dinner followed by live music and entertaining variety show at the Gandy Dancer Dinner Theater, West Virginia’s hottest new theater.

Day Four — The Great Train Race and American Mountain Music Theater
The moment has arrived – Race Day! Climb aboard either the coal-fired Cass Scenic Railroad or the diesel-powered Cheat Mountain Salamander for a ride into the mountains to our secret, hidden valley. Here, among the unspoiled West Virginia scenery framed by picturesque forests an exciting festival atmosphere awaits. There is a live mountain band playing, with hot dogs and hamburgers cooking on the grill and the cheers of rail revelers as they support their favorite locomotive’s run to victory. Following our included dinner, we enjoy an evening of fun and excitement at the American Mountain Theater. The variety of musical styles including country, gospel, pop and patriotic songs are blended with homespun humor and provides an evening of warm, wonderful memories.

Say goodbye to West Virginia with an overnight and farewell dinner in Ohio before arriving home today from our once-in-a-lifetime Great Train Race event.
