7 DAYS • 7 MEALS

Set out on the perfect American journey. Trace the steps from our early colonial history to the current inner workings of our Nation’s Capital.

Our Nation’s Capital at Cherry Blossom Time
Join us on a special departure of our Washington, DC and Williamsburg program and attend the National Cherry Blossom Festival which celebrates the blooming of the Japanese Cherry trees planted around the Tidal Basin. The festival annually commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, honoring the lasting friendship between the United States and Japan. The beauty and aroma of the blossoming cherry trees is a feast for the senses.

The festival is highlighted by the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade. Marching down Constitution Avenue, the parade is an amazing spectacle of sight and sound with colorfully decorated floats, giant helium balloons and cultural performing groups. There are also marching bands from around the country as well as precision military and specialty units and celebrity performances which combine in an energy-filled spectacle of music and showmanship you won’t want to miss.
