DAYS • 7 MEALS
Nestled
in the Blue Ridge Mountains is the Alpine village of Helen,
Georgia, home to the largest Oktoberfest celebration in the
Southeast. Enjoy a guided tour of Helen with its quaint shops
and beautiful scenery. In the evening, all paths lead to the
Festhalle, the spot for authentic German bands, food, drink
and fun. Sample the fresh cooked foods and enjoy the musical
entertainment that reflects the region's strong German influence.
See Anna Ruby Falls, a rare double waterfall, and visit the
Museum of Appalachia, depicting the history of the Appalachian
people. Be sure to see the popular Appalachian Hall of Fame
Building and the People’s Building, with over a quarter
million items. Our farewell dinner is at the historic Boone
Tavern. Built in 1909, the Boone Tavern was meant to accommodate
visitors to Berea College. Today, Boone Tavern provides a relaxing
and delightful setting for dining.
