Day
One – Chicago to Michigan
Join your traveling companions (who are coming from across America)
on a sightseeing tour of Chicago. Later we depart for Michigan
and arrive in Holland at the height of their Tulip Festival.
This afternoon we visit Veldheer-DeKlomp Tulip Garden, Holland’s
only tulip farm ablaze with acres of tulips in brilliant color
in a Dutch setting of windmills, drawbridges and canals. (Dinner)
Day
Two – Holland Tulip Festival
This morning we return to Holland and visit the famous Windmill
Island and see “De Zwaan,” a 240-year-old working
windmill. We also see a miniature Netherlands Village, a candle-making
shop and an antique carousel with hand carved wooden horses
and beautiful paintings. You will have some free time to explore
Holland on your own. This afternoon we have reserved seating
at the Muziekparade (Music Parade), where nearly 40 bands and
as many floats, giant helium balloons, horses, Klompen Dancers
and much more perform along the parade route to the delight
of young and old. (Breakfast)
Day
Three – Mackinac Island
Today we ferry to Mackinac Island, where the charm of a bygone
era is preserved. No automobiles are permitted and nothing intrudes
on the serenity and natural beauty of the Island. Tour via horse-drawn
carriage and then we arrive at the crown jewel of Mackinac Island,
The Grand Hotel, the world’s largest summer hotel built
in 1887 and our home for the next two nights. (Breakfast and
dinner)
Day
Four – Explore Mackinac Island
A full day at leisure on Mackinac Island. Browse the shops,
sample the fudge, rent a bike and pedal along the coast of Lake
Huron. Dinner again tonight is in the beautiful Grand Hotel
dining room. (Breakfast and dinner)
Day
Five – Frankenmuth and Dearborn
Today we leave the quiet and serenity of Mackinac Island and
make our way to Dearborn. En route we stop at the German village
of Frankenmuth, Michigan’s little Bavaria, to visit Bronner’s
Christmas Wonderland, the world’s largest Christmas store.

Day
Six – Rouge River Factory Tour
and The Henry Ford Museum
This morning, you go behind the scenes at the world’s
largest automotive complex as you watch the Ford F-150 pickup
truck being built on a Ford Motor Company factory tour. This
afternoon you have the choice of visiting the Henry Ford Museum,
often called “his attic” or Greenfield Village also
known as “America’s Hometown.” Tonight enjoy
a farewell dinner hosted by your Tour Manager. (Breakfast and
dinner)
Day
Seven – Return Home
This morning we make our way home with fond memories of our
Michigan adventure. (Breakfast)
