Board Amtrak’s California Zephyr for the journey to Salt
Lake City, Utah, and our welcome dinner. (Dinner)
Day Four – Canyonlands National Park
Travel to Canyonlands National Park, a colorful landscape eroded
into countless canyons, mesas and buttes by the Colorado River.
Day Five – Arches National Park
A local guide joins us in the massive sandstone walls of Arches
National Park. Enjoy lunch before boarding a raft for a float
trip on the Colorado River to hear tales of the area while exploring
scenic river passages. (Breakfast and lunch)
Day Six – Mesa Verde National Park
A visit to Mesa Verde National Park shows us the lives of the
Ancestral Pueblo people who made it their home for over 700
years in the over 600 cliff dwellings.
(Breakfast and dinner)
Day
Seven – Durango & Silverton
Narrow Gauge Railroad
Today we board the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.
Voted one of the “Top Ten Most Exciting Train Journeys
in the World," it winds through the spectacular canyons
of San Juan National Forest pulled by coal-fired locomotives.
(Breakfast)
Day Eight – Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad
We travel along the original Rio Grande Line aboard the Cumbres

was like when the many miners and loggers traveled the same
route long ago. (Breakfast and lunch)
Day Nine – Santa Fe, New Mexico
Santa Fe, the oldest state capital in the U.S., remains a wealth
of Old World charm. Our walking tour shows us the San Miguel

time to explore on your own before joining your fellow travelers
for a farewell dinner. (Breakfast and dinner)
