Days One through Three — Travel South Get ready as we journey south and enjoy a get-acquainted dinner in Tennessee before continuing on to Georgia, and finally arriving in Florida. Dinner and 2 breakfasts Day Four — Henry Flagler-Whitehall Mansion and Board the Carnival Splendor This morning we visit Henry Morrison Flagler’s Whitehall Mansion, home of Florida’s famous oil tycoon. In 1902, the New York Herald described Whitehall Mansion as, “More wonderful than any palace in Europe, grander and more magnificent than any other private dwelling in the world.” Learn about Flagler’s role in the development of Florida’s railroad industry. We also enjoy “Tea” in the beautiful Café des Beaux-Arts in the Flagler Kenan Pavilion. This Gilded Age style lunch features a selection of gourmet tea sandwiches, traditional scones and sweets complimented by the museum’s own Whitehall Special Blend tea. Later, we board the Carnival Splendor. Breakfast, lunch and dinner Day Five — Half Moon Cay, Bahamas On Half Moon Cay you can fulfill your tropical island fantasy. Gently sway in the sweet Bahamian breezes to the rhythms of calypso music, play in the warm turquoise seas or ride horseback on powdery white sand on this private island paradise. In this idyllic sun-drenched island hideaway you can sail, swim or snorkel the shallow blue-green Atlantic, feel the velvety touch of a stingray’s wings in Stingray Cove, or sip a fruity rum punch in a Bahamian open-air bar. All meals onboard Day Six — Day at Sea As we make our way to the Eastern Caribbean, a day at sea offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy the ambiance and amenities of the Carnival Splendor. This “floating resort” features fine and casual dining, complimentary 24-hour stateroom service, a full casino, including table games and slots, swimming pools and dozens of fun activities. Stroll the expansive decks or relax at one of the many lounges found onboard. All meals onboard Day Seven — St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands Today we call at St. Thomas, the most cosmopolitan of the US Virgin Islands. Visited by Christopher Columbus, used as a trade base by the Portuguese and formerly a part of the Dutch West Indies, St. Thomas has been an American territory since the end of the first world war. The capital city of Charlotte Amalie lies at the heart of this beautiful region. Optional excursions abound here. Take a ride in a submarine, go snorkeling in Christmas Cove, visit Coral World Ocean Park or spend your time shopping in Charlotte Amalie’s famous Main Street district. All meals onboard Day Eight — San Juan, Puerto Rico This American-possession island nation boasts fertile coasts, a fairly mountainous interior, a lush rainforest and a bustling capital city of San Juan. Columbus first landed here in 1493 followed by Spanish conquistadors and later Ponce de Leon, who came searching for his Fountain of Youth. Today, the highly rhythmical music of southern Spanish gypsies can be heard on Spanish guitars, right in the heart of San Juan. During your time here, visit the old part of San Juan and see the massive fortresses and great stone walls that have been protecting the capital since the 16th century. All meals onboard Day Nine — Turks and Caicos The beautiful island of Grand Turk is the capital island of the Turks and Caicos. Cockburn town is the centerpiece of the island with a wonderful selection of historical buildings and a rustic charm that is unforgettable. You will find many Bermudian and Colonial style buildings and ruins, along with the Turks and Caicos National Museum, whose central exhibit tells the story of the Molasses Reef Wreck, the oldest European shipwreck discovered in the Western Hemisphere (dated around 1505). It also discloses the rich cultural and natural diversity of the islands. While touring on your own, be sure to visit the Lighthouse, Fire Hill and the Hawks Nest Anchorage. We’re sure you will find this island nothing short of Grand! All meals onboard Day Ten — Day at Sea We enjoy another day at sea today. Give Lady Luck a try in the beautiful casino, play a few hands with friends in the card room or simply relax poolside with a good book. Your options are endless! This evening, why not enjoy some of the fantastic entertainment on board and dance the night away under the stars. All meals onboard Day Eleven — Back to Miami Arriving in Miami take advantage of some last minute duty-free shopping onboard before we bid farewell to the Splendor. We travel north into Georgia for an overnight stay. Breakfast Days Twelve and Thirteen — Homeward Bound We continue homeward with a stop in Tennessee for a farewell dinner hosted by your Tour Manager where you can share your wonderful memories of our cruise through the Eastern Caribbean with your new-found friends. 2 Breakfasts and dinner
